Statement on behalf of Clifford Moseley, Executive Director

Los Angeles International Charter High School:

We are devastated by the tragic news that Tuesday morning at approximately 7:30AM, one of our students was struck by a vehicle and passed away.

Our understanding from law enforcement is that the young man was struck off campus on his way to school.

We send our deepest condolences to the student’s family on their terrible loss.

The safety and well-being of students are our top priority. Given our location within the boundaries of the Los Angeles Unified School District, we made the decision to follow the district’s lead in closing school today as a precaution following a safety threat.

L.A. International Charter High is a close-knit community of some 225 students and 25 staff members. Our focus now is to provide counseling and other support as needed so the school community can address and heal from this tragedy.

Due to a potential threat to LAUSD schools, Los Angeles International Charter High School will be taking precautionary action and cancel classes today.

School will reopen Wednesday, December 16, 2015 and kids will be attending their 4th, 5th and 6th periods.

Debido a una posible amenaza al distrito escolar de Los Angeles, LAICHS tomara acción preventiva y cancelara clases el día de hoy.

La escuela reabrira el miércoles 16 de diciembre para los periodos 4, 5 y 6.
