Manuel Quezada has been working in
the field of Education since 1995. His first teaching
opportunity was in 2000. From 2000 through 2004, Manuel
taught history at Elizabeth Learning Center and then
at Stevenson Middle School. In January of 2004, Manuel
was recruited and hired as the Director of UNA-USA’s
Global Classrooms program in Los Angeles (GCLA). He worked
as the Director until September of 2004. He was then
hired as an Associate Educator at the Skirball Cultural
Center and as an Adjunct Instructor at Westwood College
in Torrance, where he has taught courses in political
science, history, and sociology.
Manuel is a native Angelino.
The son of Mexican immigrants, he was born and raised
in Boyle Heights, just east of downtown Los Angeles.
He attended LAUSD schools (Malabar Elem., Belvedere Junior, & Roosevelt
High School) and graduated in 1994. After high school,
Manuel began his post-secondary education at Long Beach
State, but finished-off at California State University,
Los Angeles. In 2000, he received a Bachelor of Arts
in Social Science, with an emphasis on History, and a
minor in World Politics. In 2006, he received a Master
of Arts in Political Science, with an emphasis in International
Relations, and Political Theory (also from California
State University, Los Angeles).
